Where it all started

Welcome to Jedidja Bull Terriers.

How we started...

In 1984 we moved to our first house. My brother gave us a white non-registered dog of 3 years old. I demanded that my husband take the dog back before he could even enter our premises. So for me it was definitely not love at first sight. In 2002 my father gave my son a fawn crossbreed Bullterrier (Bullterrier x Labrador) He was only 11 months old when he was poisoned. He was very alive, clever and agile and with him around nothing went unnoticed. After noticing all the positive aspects and characteristics of the Bullterrier we decided that this is most definitely the breed for us. My husband also told me once that I am like a bullterrier once I am into something - I won’t let go. A few months later we went to a amateur dog show at a church where we met Steve Matthys with Bukavi Big Billy. We bought a red and white female (from English lines – Napier). She is a petite and very laidback Bullterrier. We first bought her as a companion for my son (whose dog was poisoned) afterwards we decided to mate her as we were curious to see what would produce. Luckily we went to Steve who then selected a match for her (Bukavi Big Billy). Her first litter produced only 3 pups. Although she is a very small bullterrier her pups proved to mature into very big dogs. We decided to keep a bitch from her second litte r(a white bitch with a red patch on the one eye). Then we kept another dog (Iceman) and a tricolour bitch (Wild Thing). She was an excellent mother (as she is retired now). We started attending shows with Iceman and decided to give it a go. We started to read up about breeding with these type of dogs and started to talk to breeders. We don’t have a mentor because we like to get numerous opinions from experts and decide according to that. Hope you will enjoy our website and visit frequently and please feel free to visit us at 33 Dixon avenue, Reynoridge, Witbank.
